RB Leipzig would like to secure David Raum on a long-term contract and has already held talks with his advisors. David Raum himself had postponed a decision with regard to the World Cup. Talks are scheduled to continue during the preseason, according to BILD. For the first time, David Raum would be required to sign one of the new, strongly performance-related contracts. If a new contract is not signed, RB Leipzig risks losing the player on a free transfer in summer 2027.

David Raum stated he could well imagine a contract extension at RB Leipzig, adding that his role, recognition, and standing at the club are very beneficial to him. He is currently under contract with Leipzig until 2027.

The Saxons would like to extend the contract with the left-back, but there have not been any concrete talks yet.

RB Leipzig wants to extend the cooperation with their 27-year-old German defender, David Raum, beyond 2027. In this context, Raum's release clause is also to be removed. Until now, the clause was set at 50 million euros, but as of 2026, he would be available for a significantly lower amount. According to Transfermarkt, the player's current market value is €20 million.
