According to Sky Italia, these discussions are confirmed, and an agreement is in place for a 10 million euro deal. The player was unable to reach an agreement with Marseille on a contract extension beyond June 2027, which has led the club's management to not retain him during this winter transfer window. Strasbourg was reportedly interested in the player in recent days, and several other clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal, and Borussia Dortmund, had also been linked with him. Bakola has been capped twice for the France U20 national team and has made 8 appearances in Ligue 1 this season. Transfermarkt estimates his market value at €4.00m.
