Johnnie Jackson confirmed to BBC London Sport that AFC Wimbledon are interested in a loan deal for Daniel Kanu, a 21-year-old Sierra Leone international. Charlton have been wanting a permanent deal if the forward leaves the club, and he has played few minutes in pre-season. Kanu travelled with the team to Plough Lane but did not play. Jackson stated that Dan is a player he likes and that he gave him his debut at Charlton. Jackson added that he has followed Kanu's career very closely and that he really likes his attributes. He mentioned that they had a conversation with Charlton about it and that Charlton are aware AFC Wimbledon like him. However, Jackson noted that Kanu is Charlton's player and it is their decision what they do. Jackson also said he did not want to comment further on the matter and that Dan is a great lad. The centre-forward joined Charlton in July 2023, has a contract until 2027, and has earned 6 caps for his country, scoring one goal. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €600k. Bromley have also been linked with the player.
