Dan Neil Transfer from Sunderland to Rangers

According to Sky Sports' Keith Downie, Rangers have made contact regarding acquiring Sunderland duo Dan Neil and Romaine Mundle. It is understood that both players are available on loan deals for the second half of the campaign. Danny Rohl is keen to sign the pair after they impressed him last season in the EFL Championship, and Dan Neil is keen to play regular first team football. Discussing Neil and Mundle's situation, Le Bris said the conversation is open for every player who lacks minutes and that this is always the case. He stated that the club project is the most important thing and the first idea. After that, he said, it depends on the situation. Le Bris added that if it is thought a player will not play a lot over the second half of the season, then a solution can perhaps be found, but another club with a good project must also be found. He said it is important to stay open to avoid misunderstandings and that once it is clear for everyone, it is possible to move forward.

The Daily Record reports that enquiries have been made for Sunderland players Dan Neil and Romaine Mundle. Rangers manager Danny Rohl has made calls to determine if a move to Glasgow would appeal. According to the report, Sunderland are considering a permanent transfer for Neil and Gers will face competition from elsewhere.

The Scottish Sun has reported that Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil is set to move to Danny Rohl’s Rangers. The player has played for two minutes across two substitute appearances in the Premier League this season. The 24-year-old has six months remaining on his contract and is able to speak to clubs outside of England. Rangers could agree a deal with Neil ahead of the summer. Sunderland would want to transfer him in January for PSR reasons, because he is a homegrown player.

Rangers want to sign Sunderland midfielder Dan Neil during the winter transfer window and have enquired about the possibility of signing him in January. According to Keith Downie, Sunderland might be permitted to let Dan Neil leave on loan. The Sky Sports journalist revealed on 9 January that the Light Blues have begun the process to determine if they can sign the English midfielder. Downie stated that Rangers have made enquiries to Sunderland for two of their players who were part of the promotion-winning team and that the Scottish giants have registered their interest in midfielder Dan Neil.

Rangers are interested in Dan Neil, a 24-year-old English central midfielder who plays for Sunderland. Neil was a member of the team that won promotion and has had minimal game time in the Premier League this season, making three appearances. He joined the club in July 2021, his contract runs until June 2026, and he has been capped three times for England's U20 team. Roma and Coventry City have also been linked with the midfielder. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value is €6.50m. In the spring of 2025, reports suggested that Sunderland could find it difficult to reject bids in the £15m to £20m range.
