Charlie Warren has signed a new contract at Wanderers and has also joined the League Two side Accrington Stanley on a season-long loan. The new contract is valid until the summer of 2028 and includes a 12-month option.

English attacker Charlie Warren, 22, has signed a season-long loan deal to Stanley from Bolton Wanderers. Warren joined Bolton from Felixstowe and Walton United last summer and has made some first team appearances for the club. The versatile attacker had a loan spell at Aldershot Town last season under John Coleman, scoring seven goals in 22 games. Manager John Doolan said that they had been watching Warren for a very long time and that he came to Doolan's attention when he scored many goals in non-league. Doolan added that he had tried to get him a couple of years ago when Warren played for Bolton on trial and scored a goal against Blackburn Under-21s. He said Warren stood out and Bolton ended up signing him. Doolan stated they had wanted to take him on loan then, but he was involved with the first team. Warren then broke his wrist, and Doolan explained that when it had healed and they had the opportunity to take him, they had already filled the position. Doolan said he monitored him and watched him in the National League for Aldershot, where he scored seven goals. He also said Warren can play in a number of positions, anywhere across the front line, as an eight, a 10, or as a centre-forward. Doolan described him as mobile, adding that he glides, is good on the eye, and knows where the net is. He also stated that Warren is a poacher, a good finisher, and another good addition to their squad. His contract with parent club Bolton Wanderers is due to expire in June 2027.
