Cardiff City is the leading club among four interested in signing Reading's Welsh international midfielder, Charlie Savage, who has been capped twice for his country. The other clubs identified as being interested in the player are Lincoln, Blackburn Rovers, and the newly-relegated Sheffield Wednesday. Savage joined Reading in July 2023. It is stated that a fee of approximately £800,000 could be sufficient to complete a deal for the player. Savage is 23 years old, is out of contract next summer, and has a current Transfermarkt valuation of €900,000. During the previous transfer window, Norwich City and Oxford United also had an interest in Savage. Reading reportedly set an asking price of £1.5 million in January 2026 and rejected two bids from Oxford for £500,000 and £750,000.
