Ben Justus Bobzen Transfer from FSV Mainz 05 to Dynamo Dresden
Bild reports that offensive player Ben Bobzien, aged 22, has joined Dynamo Dresden on loan from Bundesliga club Mainz, with the transfer completed at the end of last week. Bobzien revealed that a past DFB-Pokal match was a factor in his move, stating that he was immediately convinced when Dresden made an inquiry because he knew the stadium and the 'unbelievable' atmosphere the fans could create. Before the transfer, he also asked his former Germany U-national team roommate, Robert Wagner, about the club. Dynamo's sporting director, Sören Gonther, commented that Bobzien has steadily developed in recent years with his pace and tricky style of play. Gonther added that the player is versatile enough to be used on either wing or in the center and has a good intensity against the ball. The sporting director also explained that with Bobzien and Jason Ceka, the team now has players for the spaces in between, complementing others who make runs in behind, and that this creates a competitive situation that improves every individual. The German youth international has 13 caps and two goals for the U20 team. He is under contract with Mainz until June 2027, and his current loan to Dresden runs until June 2026. He has made one Bundesliga appearance this season and had also recently been linked with moves to LASK Linz and Cracovia Kraków. Transfermarkt currently estimates his market value at €1.20m.
