BILD reported that Dynamo Dresden and Jason Ceka had largely reached an agreement. Elversberg would also have permitted the right winger to leave, and he was not included in the DFB-Pokal match in Duisburg or the Bundesliga opener against Leverkusen. However, BILD reports that the deal was cancelled at the last moment. The only explanation provided is that the SGD bosses, including sporting director Sören Gonther and coach Thomas Stamm, secured another candidate for the position at the last minute.

SV Elversberg is reportedly looking to transfer Jason Ceka after the summer preparation because the attacker has no prospect of playing time at the club. Dynamo Dresden is said to be showing interest in the 26-year-old right winger, who had already spent the second half of the last season with the club from Saxony and made a positive impression. According to Bild, Elversberg is asking for a transfer fee of €400,000 for the player. Elversberg signed Ceka on a free transfer from 1. FC Magdeburg one year prior.
