According to A Bola, Arouca has officially announced the signing of Bas Kuipers, who joins on loan from Twente. The 31-year-old left-back is a former Netherlands youth international and is Arouca's first reinforcement of the winter market.

Left-back Bas Kuipers is expected to leave FC Twente this winter. The 31-year-old Dutchman, who has been a bench player at the club with seven appearances in the Eredivisie this season, is close to a loan move to FC Arouca, currently sixteenth in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. FC Twente reportedly agreed to the transfer because they consider Ruud Nijstad a good backup for their preferred starter, Mats Rots. The loan agreement will not include an option to buy. Kuipers joined Twente in July 2024, and his contract is valid until 2028. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €800k. Heracles Almelo has also been associated with a potential move for the player.
