Rubin Kazan is interested in signing 25-year-old Swedish-Palestinian striker Assad Al-Hamlawi from Universitatea Craiova, as they are searching for a new forward after the transfer of Mirlind Daku to Spartak Moscow. It is uncertain if the Russian club will pay the 5 million euros requested by Universitatea Craiova, or if the player, who has 3 caps for Palestine, will agree to the transfer, given that Russian teams are still banned from European competitions. Al-Hamlawi has attracted other interest this summer. Negotiations with Pyramids previously failed, while clubs including Club Brugge, Mainz, AEK Athens, Legia Warsaw, and Al Ahly Cairo have been rumored to be interested. Al-Hamlawi joined the Romanian club in July 2025 for a reported fee of around €1 million and his contract is valid until 2028. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €2.00m. A reported €3 million offer from Pyramids was rejected during the summer, and an earlier offer in May of up to €1.6 million from AEK Athens was also deemed insufficient.
