The same report indicates Wrexham are targeting Sunderland's Anthony Patterson as a replacement, pursuing either a loan or a permanent transfer. Nixon's post added that Sunderland could sell Patterson for a fee between £8 million and £10 million, though a loan is the preferred outcome. If Wrexham secure a new goalkeeper, Leicester, a club aiming for promotion from League One, could look to buy the 24-year-old Okonkwo or sign him on loan. The goalkeeper kept nine clean sheets in 39 Championship appearances last season. The Nigerian international joined Wrexham in July 2024 and is under contract until June 2027. He has two caps for his country and a current market value of €5.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
