Bremen made an inquiry for Andrija Maksimović, a 19-year-old Serbian attacking midfielder, on the final day of the transfer window, but a summer transfer was opposed by his coach at RB Leipzig, Martin Demichelis. The coach, who reportedly thinks highly of the player, stated that the team needs him and therefore blocked a move. An alternative option for a loan to Salzburg was also dismissed. Maksimović joined RB Leipzig in July 2025 and has a contract until 2030. He has been capped 9 times by the Serbian national team and has a current market value of €9.00m according to Transfermarkt.
