Alex Palmer Transfer from Ipswich Town to Blackburn Rovers
Lancashire Telegraph reporter Elliott Jackson has suggested Blackburn Rovers should target Ipswich Town's English goalkeeper Alex Palmer, whose future is considered uncertain. According to Jackson, Palmer was replaced in the team by Christian Walton last season and could be available for a loan or permanent transfer, with a departure in the coming weeks seen as a possibility, especially if the newly-promoted Premier League club signs another goalkeeper. The 29-year-old, who is under contract until June 2028, could be a target for Blackburn if either Balasz Toth or Aynsley Pears were to leave. A reunion is considered a possibility as Blackburn's head coach, Tony Mowbray, previously managed Palmer during their time together at West Brom. It is believed the keeper would seek to become the primary goalkeeper at Ewood Park if he joined. Palmer made 10 appearances in the Championship during the 2025/2026 season, having joined Ipswich from West Bromwich Albion in February 2025 for a reported fee of €2.4 million. West Bromwich Albion has also been linked with a move for the player. His current market value is €1.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
