Bosnia-Herzegovina international Adrian Leon Barišić will continue his career at Portuguese club Braga. The 24-year-old central defender, who joined Basel from Osijek in the summer of 2023 for three million euros, arrives on loan with an option to buy. He was previously close to a move to Dinamo before the deal failed. This transfer follows a deterioration in his status at Basel towards the end of autumn, prompting him to find a club where he would be an undisputed starter, despite having been named in the Swiss league's ideal team last season after playing 76 games for the club. Barišić, who has 15 caps for his country, made 11 appearances in the Super League in the 2025/2026 season. His contract with Basel is set to expire in June 2027, and his current market value is €4.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
