Following previous interest from Brazil's Vasco da Gama, Italian club Lecce has started taking steps to sign 26-year-old Nigerian winger Abraham Marcus from Estrela da Amadora. Lecce has made a significant effort to acquire the forward, but Estrela da Amadora's SAD is resisting the sale. The club's management wants to strengthen its sporting project and is not prepared to lose its main assets, unless a formal offer with a very high value is made. Another relevant factor is that FC Porto holds 40 percent of Abraham Marcus's economic rights, which Estrela da Amadora will have to take into consideration. Marcus, who joined Estrela in July 2025, is under contract until June 2028 and has two caps for Nigeria. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €1.00m. In August 2026, reports indicated Brazilian clubs were willing to pay around €4 million for the player, while in February 2026, Athletico Paranaense reportedly had a formal offer of €2.5 million rejected.
