West Ham United has inquired with Atalanta about the availability of Nicola Zalewski. The 24-year-old Polish international midfielder, who also holds Italian nationality, has recently attracted interest from various teams, including Napoli, following a period of improved form that has seen him start regularly since mid-November. In the current Serie A season, he has made 18 appearances, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
Zalewski was transferred to Atalanta for 17 million euros after a brief spell at Inter Milan, who had acquired him from his original club, Roma, for a fee of approximately €6.5 million. While Atalanta does not consider Zalewski unsellable, the club's management would only consider a sale if they receive a significant offer. His contract is valid until June 2029, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €15 million. It was reported that in September 2024, Roma had accepted a €15 million offer from Galatasaray, which the player rejected.
