According to reports in the British press, Crystal Palace is monitoring the situation of Chibuike Nwaiwu. A point of emphasis is that Trabzonspor's demand of 30 million Euro is making the transfer difficult.

Crystal Palace are looking for a replacement following the sale of defender Maxence Lacroix to Chelsea and have opened discussions with Augsburg for Chrislain Matsima. Matsima has already agreed to terms with the English club. If a deal for Matsima fails, 23-year-old Nigerian centre-back Chibuike Nwaiwu of Trabzonspor is being considered as an alternative. Nwaiwu has three caps for Nigeria, joined the Turkish club in January 2026, and is under contract until 2030. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €10.00m. Several other clubs have been linked with Nwaiwu, including Fulham and Bayer Leverkusen.
