Milan is preparing to dedicate a significant portion of its upcoming transfer budget to a new starting striker, and the club's directors have identified Petar Stanić, a 24-year-old Serbian and Croatian attacking midfielder, as a target. A scout recently observed the Ludogorets player in person at the Huvepharma Arena in Razgrad, during a match in which he scored against CSKA Sofia.

Stanić has 7 goals and 7 assists in the league this season and is also the joint top scorer in the Europa League with 7 goals, equal to Igor Jesus of Nottingham. The Bulgarian club has set an initial asking price of approximately €10 million, and Atalanta is also reportedly monitoring the player. Stanić, who has not yet been capped by the Serbian national team, joined Ludogorets in July 2025 and has a contract until June 2028. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €3.50m.
