Harry Kane: FC Bayern München Contract Extension

Sporting director Max Eberl told 'kicker' that Harry Kane knows the club's appreciation and that they feel his appreciation. Eberl added that Kane feels extremely comfortable at the club. The talks will begin sometime in the next few months, and then they will evaluate their situation and how things can proceed. The striker's contract runs until 2027.

The plan is to extend Kane's contract beyond 2027, and concrete negotiations will only take place in the spring.

Harry Kane has stated that talks about his contract will not take place next month but may occur in the new year, when they will be discussed. He added that they are in a good position, he feels good, and that neither he nor the club are in a rush. Kane is extremely happy about the recent contract extension for coach Vincent Kompany, who has signed a new contract until 2029. Kane said that Kompany is a big part of the club and an important reason why he enjoys being there so much, and described the extension as great news. He also said it is good to know Kompany now has such a long contract and that when the talks start, they will see what happens. A few days ago, board chairman Jan-Christian Dreesen assured that he wants to talk to Kane about his future at the appropriate time.

Lothar Matthäus said on Sky that they absolutely do not need to talk about a contract extension for Harry Kane, advising them to extend. Didi Hamann stated that it would be madness to extend with a player who will be 34 when his contract expires and madness to even think about it. A prediction suggests Harry Kane will not trigger a release clause, which is only valid until the end of January, and that Bayern will instead extend his contract prematurely by one or two years before the World Cup.

Harry Kane stated that he can definitely imagine staying beyond his current deal. Kane said that they have not yet had a conversation about it but he is sure it is something they can discuss. He also said that a potential early contract extension may depend on Vincent Kompany's continued presence, adding that the coach plays a big role in the matter.

Harry Kane is open to signing a new deal with Bayern Munich. Kane said that he could definitely see himself staying longer and that although he has not had those conversations with Bayern yet, he would be willing to talk if they arise. He added that it depends on how the next year or so goes and what they achieve together. Kane also said that if there is to be an extension, it has to work for everyone and have a clear vision of where the club is heading.

Christoph Freund revealed that he can easily imagine Harry Kane not only staying in Bavaria, but also extending his stay. Speaking to Sky Germany, Freund stated that both sides can easily imagine continuing together beyond the end of the current contract. Freund also said that it is still too early to discuss it in detail.

The English national team captain showed willingness to extend his contract with FC Bayern last weekend. According to BILD, Bayern has internally decided that as a basis for potential talks, Kane's salary should not be increased further. Kane is said to be among the top earners at Bayern with an estimated annual salary of 24 million euros.

Harry Kane has stated that he feels very comfortable in Munich and has indicated the prospect of an extension. Kane said he thinks the Bayern officials are satisfied with him and he is satisfied with them, so these talks could take place. Sporting director Max Eberl said that a collaboration beyond the 2026/27 season is "absolutely conceivable" and added that they will calmly discuss the next steps with him.

After being asked by BILD whether he would like to score his next 100 goals in Munich, Kane said: 'Yes, here in Munich. I am very happy here. I know there has been a lot of talk out there recently and there has been noise. That's sometimes understandable when your contract is only valid for a few years and you are doing well. I understand that as a compliment. But all I can say is that my focus is here at Bayern Munich. I am happy and my family is happy.' On the question of an extension in Munich, Kane said: 'We haven't had this conversation yet. But I'm sure that's something we can talk about.' Kane explained further: 'I still have almost two years left on my contract. So it's not like I'm in my last year and everyone is panicking. I'm in a good situation and the club is in a good situation. I think the club is happy with me and I'm happy with it. So yes, these talks can happen. They haven't happened yet. But if they happen, we will have an open and honest conversation - about where I stand and where the club's future lies. All I can say is that we are heading in the right direction and I am happy about that.'
