Manchester United are interested in Juventus' 28-year-old Italian midfielder Manuel Locatelli as they look for a new midfielder, with the departure of Casemiro at the end of the season being probable. The club has already initiated first contacts with the player's entourage to explore the possibility of a summer transfer.
This is not the first time United has been interested, having monitored Locatelli closely in 2021 after his notable performances for Italy in the European Championship. That summer, Juventus signed him from Sassuolo on a two-year loan with an obligation to buy for €25 million plus €12.5 million in bonuses. Locatelli subsequently signed a contract extension with Juventus in November 2023, which commits him to the club until June 2028. The Italian international has 34 caps and 3 goals for his country. In the current Serie A season, he has made 22 appearances, providing one assist. Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €25.00m. Galatasaray and Olympique Marseille have also been linked with the player.
