Juventus considers Edin Džeko as a last-minute solution

The Fiorentina forward is being considered for a potential transfer as a cost-effective option for the Turin club.

Juventus is seeking a forward in the January transfer window due to an attacking crisis, which has been intensified by an injury to Dušan Vlahović that will keep him out until March. Edin Džeko, a 39-year-old Bosnian-Herzegovinian forward who is leaving Fiorentina, is being considered as a potential last-minute, six-month solution. The transfer is viewed as a cost-effective option that would provide needed experience and physical presence. Coach Luciano Spalletti is reportedly the primary supporter of the transfer.

A potential deal would be aided by the deep connection and mutual respect between Džeko and Spalletti, who has coached the player successfully before. The move, however, is described as an 'extreme option' that is motivated by necessity instead of long-term planning, and it would only proceed if Juventus does not secure its primary targets. The veteran striker has 146 caps and 72 goals for Bosnia-Herzegovina and has made 11 appearances in Serie A this season. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €1.50m, and several other Serie A clubs, including Cagliari and Genoa, have also been linked with him.
