The future of 29-year-old Turkish defender Zeki Çelik at Roma is uncertain, as his contract expires on June 30th and renewal talks have not progressed. According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Çelik's agents have requested a net salary of €4 million a year, but Roma's proposal is to increase his current salary to a maximum of €2.5 million net. Newcastle has Çelik on their list, with Fulham and Liverpool also mentioned as interested Premier League clubs. The situation has also reportedly attracted the attention of Juventus and Stuttgart from the Bundesliga. Çelik has 58 caps and 3 goals for Türkiye and joined Roma from LOSC Lille in July 2022 for a reported €7.0M. In Serie A this season, he has made 23 appearances, scoring once and providing two assists. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €12.00m. Reports in October 2025 suggested that an offer of around €5 million could have secured a transfer.
