Francesco Farioli stated that he spoke with Zaidu a few weeks ago. He said Zaidu is a player he trusts, to whom he gave many opportunities and who responded with good games and great contributions. Farioli commented that the January market is still far away, but they will evaluate the situation when it comes. He added that Zaidu is a player who is very happy to be with them and whom he relies on.

Leeds is preparing a move for FC Porto left-back Zaidu in the January transfer window, aiming to use the player's contract situation to sign him for a low price. According to Football Insider, Leeds could benefit from the Nigeria international being able to sign with another club on a free transfer from January. Record reports that Leeds' interest in Zaidu is not recent and that the club has been monitoring him since the 2024/25 season. The club secured promotion during that season. The club has also conducted several scouting missions, the most recent of which was during a Champions League match between FC Porto and PSV. At that time, Leeds did not make a formal offer to FC Porto because they were aware that the club's management would not facilitate his departure. The current situation is different because Zaidu is in the final year of his contract and, so far, there has been no agreement on a potential renewal. This creates an opportunity for Leeds as January approaches. Zaidu will be free to sign a pre-contract with another club for a transfer at the end of the season.

Leeds continues to monitor Zaidu Sanusi, who is in the final year of his contract with FC Porto, where negotiations for a new contract are advanced. Leeds is considering a potential free transfer next summer if Zaidu and FC Porto do not reach a renewal agreement. The club is also considering attempting to sign him in January if there is a deadlock in the renewal process and Zaidu can be recruited on favorable terms. The site Transfermarkt values the player at three million euros.

Leeds United are reportedly hoping to sign Porto defender Zaidu Sanusi during the January transfer window. According to a Football Insider report, Leeds believe they could sign Zaidu Sanusi for a reduced fee, with his contract situation at Porto creating an opportunity to negotiate a favourable deal. Leeds are hoping to use Sanusi’s contract expiring at the end of the current campaign to sign him for a relatively modest fee. The club, which has considered moves for Zaidu Sanusi during the previous two transfer windows, will continue monitoring developments before deciding whether to make their interest formal.
