Yari Verschaeren has rejected a contract extension at RSC Anderlecht, according to Het Laatste Nieuws. The offer would have extended his contract under reduced terms, but Verschaeren did not accept it.

A January departure for Yari Verschaeren, a 24-year-old Belgian attacking midfielder, is considered a possibility. Anderlecht needs to sell players to create financial capacity for new signings, and Verschaeren, who has 7 caps and one goal for Belgium, is among the candidates who could leave, partly due to his recent form, which included an ineffectual substitute appearance against Charleroi; this season he has one goal and one assist in 13 league appearances. A good mid-table club in the Netherlands, such as AZ, could be a suitable destination to reinvigorate his career, while Trabzonspor has also been linked.
