Yankuba Minteh Transfer from Brighton & Hove Albion to Liverpool

Journalist Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider that Liverpool are planning a move for Yankuba Minteh as a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah. Liverpool view the Brighton winger as one of the most exciting players in the Premier League, and Arne Slot rates him highly after they worked together at Feyenoord. O’Rourke states that nothing is imminent for Minteh at this stage, but Liverpool could enter exploratory talks in the summer to try to arrange a deal. Brighton are expected to request £60-70m, which is up to €80m or $92m, before selling the player.

Liverpool is very interested in Brighton & Hove Albion winger Yankuba Minteh, according to Football Insider, which also estimates a potential transfer at around 82 million euros (70 million pounds sterling). Reportedly, the situation is linked to Liverpool's coach, Arne Slot, who knows Minteh from their time together at Feyenoord. Furthermore, coach Saintfiet commented that it is possible for Minteh to go to Liverpool.

According to Pete O’Rourke, Liverpool are interested in signing Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh. Liverpool are prepared to spend a significant amount on Minteh, who has gradually improved at Brighton since his £30m transfer from Newcastle in the summer of 2024.

Liverpool is monitoring Yankuba Minteh. The value of the Gambian winger is estimated at 35 million euros. In an interview with Africafoot, Tom Saintfiet, the Belgian coach of Mali and Minteh's former coach at Gambia, commented on the situation. Saintfiet said it is possible Minteh could join Liverpool, and mentioned that when a club like Liverpool decides to strengthen and shows interest in a player, there is a good chance they could sign him. He also noted that Minteh knows Arne Slot, the current Liverpool coach, from their time together at Feyenoord Rotterdam.

Liverpool have reportedly scouted Yankuba Minteh multiple times before the winter transfer window. The management of the English club considers the young forward a potential successor to Mohamed Salah. The Reds, who courted the Gambian international last summer, would be prepared to spend approximately 100 million euros for him.

Liverpool is reportedly showing interest in Yankuba Minteh as they consider the possibility of offloading Luis Diaz, who would then need to be replaced. Minteh has attracted attention from several top clubs, with Manchester United and Arsenal prepared to compete with Liverpool for the Brighton star's signature. The 20-year-old's standout performance in the Premier League, where he has scored ten goals and provided four assists this season, has made him highly sought after. With several top players from Brighton having moved to bigger clubs in recent years, it appears likely that Minteh could follow a similar trajectory. The competition for his transfer highlights his growing prominence, making him a key target for clubs aiming to bolster their attacking options this summer.
