Asromalive reports that Porto are demanding $51 million (€45 million, £39 million) to sell winger William Gomes, and that his admirers in the Premier League include Newcastle United.

According to A Bola, no concrete offer or approach has been made for William Gomes, who has been linked to Newcastle in recent weeks. The player has a contract with FC Porto until 2029 that includes a release clause of 80 million euros. FC Porto will listen to proposals, although Francesco Farioli considers William Gomes a key part of the club's future strategy. FC Porto purchased William Gomes from São Paulo in January 2025 for 9 million euros, acquiring 80% of his rights. São Paulo kept 20% of the economic rights and will receive a portion of any potential transfer unless FC Porto acquires the remaining percentage.

According to A Bola, Newcastle is tracking William Gomes of Porto, and the club will only agree to the player's departure for a very high fee or upon payment of his 80 million euro release clause, 20% of which would go to San Paolo.

According to AS, Newcastle has inquired about the situation of William Gomes at Oporto. Oporto is aware of the interest but wants to retain William Gomes for at least one more season.
