Reporter Loïc Tanzi has stated that PAOK Thessaloniki is targeting Hamburg's William Mikelbrencis for the right-back position. The Greek club is advancing contacts for the acquisition of the French right-back, and it is reported that Hamburg is not opposed to a potential departure of William Mikelbrencis.

Hamburger SV is considering letting either William Mikelbrencis or Silvan Hefti leave during this transfer window to make room for a new right-back. Mikelbrencis, who has been with Hamburger SV since 2022, has a contract until 2026. The decision will be made by the end of the preparation period.

In the summer, William Mikelbrencis was considered a top candidate for a loan deal. However, after improving his performance, he is no longer considered a candidate for transfer during the winter transfer window.
