Will Armitage, a 21-year-old English centre-back, will permanently join National League North side Brackley Town once his contract at St Mary's concludes. The defender, who developed in the youth system at Cheltenham Town before moving to Saints in July 2023, is rejoining the recently relegated club. This follows a loan spell there during the 2025/26 campaign, in which he made 15 appearances and scored once in National League South, and made 12 appearances in the National League. Armitage has had several loans in the National League, including a successful period with Aldershot Town where he was part of their FA Trophy-winning team. Following the announcement, Armitage stated that he was already familiar with the ambitious club from the previous season and felt it was the right place for his next career step. Manager Andy Whing expressed his delight at signing the player permanently. He described Armitage as a fantastic prospect and highlighted his valuable experience at that level, along with positive attributes such as being composed on the ball and his love for defending.
