Vitão Transfer from Internacional to Flamengo
After a long negotiation, Flamengo has signed Vitão from Internacional. The final agreement was reached once an issue regarding the commission payment to Vitão's agents was resolved. According to a report from ESPN, the total transaction is around 10.7 million euros (R$ 66.6 million). The report states that Flamengo will pay 5.5 million euros (R$ 36 million) and forgive a debt concerning Thiago Maia, which is valued at approximately 4.7 million euros (R$ 30.6 million). Flamengo is to pay six million euros in cash, with the remainder being offset against the debt Internacional has for Thiago Maia. This debt originates from a purchase for 4 million euros (R$ 21.6 million) made in July of the previous year, which was scheduled to be paid in 10 installments, none of which were paid.
According to Globo.com, Flamengo is closer to signing defender Vitão. Inter had arranged to sell the player to Cruzeiro, but the negotiation was unsuccessful, leading the Colorado club to approve Flamengo's proposal. Inter had rejected Flamengo's first proposal, but the red-black club has now offered to forgive the debt for Thiago Maia and pay the remaining amount in cash. The total transaction is approximately 10 million euros. Vitão had already reached an agreement with Cruzeiro, and Flamengo now needs to reach an agreement with the player to complete the deal.
According to ESPN BR, Vitão's negotiations with Cruzeiro have stalled in recent days, which has reignited the possibility of Flamengo being the defender's destination. An outstanding debt with Flamengo for the purchase of Thiago Maia could be a factor that influences a possible change in Vitão's future.
According to ESPN BR, Flamengo inquired about Vitão's situation in recent weeks but has not taken further steps regarding its interest so far. The club does not intend to pay the asking price for a player with little time left on his contract.
ESPN BR reports that Flamengo has entered the transfer market and has Vitão as its primary target. Inter is seeking approximately 10 million euros, or about R$ 64 million, and Flamengo is attempting to negotiate the price.
Goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão of Santos and defender Vitão of Internacional are being targeted for acquisition. Flamengo has initiated contact with the players, although no formal proposals have been made. The permanence of the players' clubs, which had fought against relegation, could alter the terms of a deal, and the red-black board is attempting to negotiate on the values.
Vitão has a contract with Inter until the end of 2026, and Flamengo is interested in him. The clubs are monitoring the player's situation, and there is currently no official proposal. José Boto, Flamengo's football director, appreciates the player, having worked with him at Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine. Colorado holds 80% of the player's economic rights and wants to receive 10 million euros for the transfer. However, Flamengo does not intend to pay this amount for a player with a short contract term.
Flamengo's president, Bap, when asked about potential interest in Vitão from Internacional, replied that he does not discuss players by name and added that this responsibility belongs to Boto.
Flamengo has sought new information about Vitão for the upcoming season, and the player's staff is aware of the club's interest. Flamengo is awaiting the outcome of Internacional's relegation situation before deciding its next actions. A significant factor will be convincing the player, who has communicated to people close to him a desire to return to Europe. The current asking price is 10 million euros. At the beginning of the year, a negotiation failed after Internacional did not accept a deal for the same amount, which consisted of paying 6 million euros and forgiving a 4 million euro debt. This irritated Flamengo's management, who then publicly complained about the unpaid amount. Flamengo will attempt to negotiate the fee again.
According to ESPN, Flamengo is interested in acquiring Vitão in 2026. The price to begin negotiations is 10 million euros for 80% of the economic rights. A purchase of 100% of the player is also a possibility, which would include the 20% that belongs to the player, for a total value that could reach 12 million euros.
According to ESPN BR, Flamengo has consulted about the terms of a deal for Vitão and remains interested in signing the player. However, the current trend is for him to move to Europe.
Vitão, who is currently with Internacional, has been pursued by Flamengo. However, Internacional turned down Flamengo's proposal. The deal was valued at a total of 10 million euros, comprising 4 million euros to clear a debt for Thiago Maia and 6 million euros for Vitão's transfer. Vitão reportedly conveyed his contentment at Internacional and refuted claims of attempting to leave. The Brazilian defender, whose contract with Internacional runs through the end of 2026, has also drawn attention from European teams like Real Betis and Napoli, although no successful offers have been made. Despite the ongoing rumors, Vitão is said to be dedicated to Internacional, where he participated in 51 matches in 2024, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
