Cosenza is seeking to rebuild its goalkeeper department following the departure of Thomas Vettorel. It is reported that 21-year-old Velizar-Iliya Iliev from Cagliari is very close to joining the club. Negotiations for the Bulgarian goalkeeper are nearing completion. The proposed deal is a loan with a right of redemption. This formula would allow Cosenza to evaluate Iliev during the season and includes an option for a permanent acquisition. Iliev spent the previous season on loan at Audace Cerignola and gained experience in Serie C. The transfer is part of a wider discussion between the two clubs. Cosenza is also assessing another Cagliari goalkeeper, Giuseppe Ciocci, for a potential permanent move. Iliev has been capped twice by Bulgaria's U21 team, has a contract with Cagliari until 2028, and has a current market value of €300k according to Transfermarkt.
