Journalist Decebal Rădulescu stated that it is rumored Valentin Mihăilă could return to Universitatea Craiova. However, the player's representative, Giovanni Becali, denied any possible return to his former club. Becali stated that Mihăilă has two years remaining on his contract with Rizespor and that a departure in the next two years is out of the question as the team is very satisfied with him. The representative added that Mihăilă can leave if he has an offer from a team better than his club in Turkey. Regarding Craiova, Becali said he does not know anything and has not heard anything.

Rumors exist regarding a potential return to Universitatea Craiova for the 26-year-old Romanian winger, Valentin Mihăilă. Universitatea Craiova sold Mihăilă to Parma in 2020 for €9.5 million. He is currently under contract with the Turkish club Rizespor until 2029, a club he joined in July 2025. He has 36 caps and 5 goals for Romania. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated to be €3.50m.
