According to journalist Igor Burbas, Universitatea Craiova offered two million euros for a full transfer of Aliou Thiare and approached the management of Dynamo Kyiv. Igor Kostyuk refused to part with Aliou Thiare, stating that they would not part with the player because they have young Mihavko in this position and need backup. After the coach's refusal, negotiations were terminated.

Africafoot also revealed that the player is under contract until 2029 and arrived in September of the previous year. Discussions are continuing positively, with hope that an agreement will soon be reached to finalize the deal.
