Gerard Nijkamp, the technical director for Sparta Rotterdam, confirmed that discussions occurred with Feyenoord last summer concerning a potential transfer for 28-year-old Norwegian striker Tobias Lauritsen. Speaking on the program Goedemorgen Eredivisie, Nijkamp explained that he talks with various technical directors, such as Dennis te Kloese of Feyenoord, and that players are part of these discussions. He clarified that Feyenoord did not submit an official bid for the striker. Nijkamp also added that for a deal to be completed, all involved parties must be in agreement, but the process did not get to that point. Lauritsen's contract at Sparta is expiring, which could result in a transfer for no fee. During the current Eredivisie season, Lauritsen has scored 7 goals and made 1 assist in 14 appearances, and Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €3.50m.
