Forest Green Rovers have signed 18-year-old defender Sydney Agina on loan from Championship side Stoke until January. The academy player, who holds both Kenyan and English citizenship, has also agreed to a new two-year contract extension with Stoke. The loan follows Agina making five league appearances for Stoke at the end of last season and earning his first international cap for Kenya in a friendly last month. Stoke's director of football, Jonathan Walters, stated that the club believes consistent exposure to first-team football is the logical next step for the player. Agina joined Stoke in March 2026, and in the 2025/2026 season, he made a total of 51 appearances for the club's U18 and Premier League 2 teams, providing two goals and two assists. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is estimated to be €200k.
