Following a failed transfer to PSV Eindhoven last summer, Mijnans extended his contract with the condition that he would be permitted to leave in the upcoming summer. It is reported that Sven Mijnans might be able to leave AZ Alkmaar for a fee of approximately ten million euros.

Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund are reportedly interested in 26-year-old Dutch midfielder Sven Mijnans, with interest coming from the Bundesliga.
