Steve Mounié Transfer from FC Augsburg to Alanyaspor
Corendon Alanyaspor has officially announced that Steve Mounié, the Beninese international, will be loaned for one season from FC Augsburg. Mounié, who joined Augsburg from Stade Brest last year, is under contract until 2027 but is not part of the current plans.
Alanyaspor has won the race to sign Steve Mounié. According to 'Bild', the striker is close to joining the Turkish top-flight club on loan. It is still unclear whether a purchase option will be included in the deal; this must be decided by tomorrow, when the transfer window in Turkey closes. Both Augsburg and Mounié are open to an early separation due to competition for places in attack.
FC Augsburg's 30-year-old centre-forward, Steve Mounié, is a candidate for a transfer to Turkey, where the transfer window closes this Friday. According to kicker, Alanyaspor is the frontrunner to sign him, although another Turkish club is also reportedly interested. The potential transfer is due to the striker not figuring in coach Sandro Wagner's plans, as other forwards are ahead of him in the pecking order. Mounié's agent is actively looking for a new team for the player, who desires more game time so as not to risk his spot in the Benin national team. A swift decision on his future is expected after the international break. This follows a collapsed move to French top-flight side Angers SCO at the end of the summer transfer period. Mounié came to Augsburg just one year ago from Stade Brest on a free transfer. He is under contract with the German club until 2027, and his Transfermarkt market value is listed at €2.00m.
