Simon Eriksson Transfer from Elfsborg to Real Madrid

According to Fotbollskanalen, Simon Eriksson has attracted the interest of Real Madrid. The player stated that it was a bit surprising but at the same time fun. He said Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world and has the best possible reputation, adding that it was fun to read. Eriksson confirmed there is some truth to the reports but clarified that it was not the case that Florentino Pérez had called him to tell him to come on. He described the interest as nice but stated that it is not close to being completed.

Real Madrid have identified Elfsborg’s 19-year-old Swedish player Simon Eriksson as the ideal long-term replacement for Thibaut Courtois, who will turn 34 in a few months. The goalkeeper, a product of Elfsborg's youth system, has reportedly attracted the attention of a number of European clubs with his outstanding performances in his domestic league. Spanish media report that Real Madrid's plan is to monitor Eriksson's development and potentially bring him to Madrid when he is considered ready for major challenges. His contract with the Swedish club runs until the end of 2029, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €500k. Eriksson is yet to be capped for the Sweden U21 team.
