Celtic's 25-year-old Japanese forward, Shin Yamada, joined the German team Preußen Münster on loan during the winter transfer window. Preußen Münster's sporting director, Jan Uphues, stated that the club had to act at the time of the signing because of numerous injuries and explained that with all players now fit, there is more competition. Uphues acknowledged that Yamada has not had as many opportunities as he would have wanted recently but expressed certainty that the forward will get his chance in the remaining five matches.
