Manchester United are considering a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Serhou Guirassy due to concerns over Benjamin Sesko's fitness. According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United are assessing whether reinforcements are needed in January, with Guirassy one player under consideration. The club has been tracking him since he established himself as a Bundesliga star at Stuttgart. In the summer, he had a €40m release clause that only a select few top clubs, including Manchester United, could have triggered. However, the only serious interest Guirassy received came from Turkey and Saudi Arabia. This allowed Dortmund to set his price and they had no intention of offering discounts as they wanted to keep their striker. In January, there is no release clause and Dortmund will try to keep him.

According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United are closely monitoring Serhou Guirassy as part of their assessment of attacking options ahead of January. Guirassy has long been a player of interest to United and was considered by the club in 2023. United are continuing to assess potential attacking targets and could revisit their options in January depending on how the first half of the season develops. There is currently no indication that United have decided to attempt to sign the Dortmund forward. A deal would be complicated even if United were to take their interest in Guirassy further. Dortmund are not currently looking to lose players from a squad they believe can seriously challenge for the title, and Guirassy is playing an important role in those ambitions. Guirassy has less than two years remaining on his current contract.

According to sources cited by TEAMtalk, Guirassy could be offered to Man Utd before the end of the season. Man Utd are expected to be offered the opportunity to sign the 29-year-old, and sources believe this is an option Guirassy will explore. The player has a specific release clause that permits a number of top clubs to sign him. Other English clubs that would have the opportunity to sign Guirassy include Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea, but Man Utd could be more likely to be targeted by intermediaries attempting to arrange a move.
