Senne Lammens Transfer from Antwerp to Sunderland

Sunderland explored signing Senne Lammens earlier in the transfer window but decided against it, believing his game was unsuited for English football and considering Antwerp’s €25m asking price as a risky overpayment.

Senne Lammens is on the radar of several Premier League clubs, including Manchester United, Sunderland, Leeds United, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, and Burnley. However, these clubs need a goalkeeper to leave before making a move for Lammens. The transfer fee of 20 million euros is a potential obstacle, but not insurmountable for English clubs if they are convinced of Lammens' capability as a number one goalkeeper.

Sunderland, familiar with the Jupiler Pro League, is on the lookout for a new goalkeeper, and Lammens is a potential target. The 23-year-old Belgian goalkeeper, who recently became a Rode Duivel due to his impressive performances last season, has attracted significant international interest. Although Galatasaray has already expressed interest, Lammens is reportedly aiming for a move to a bigger league. Manchester United is also considering him as they face goalkeeping challenges, but Sunderland remains a viable option, having already recruited players from the Jupiler Pro League this summer.
