It is understood that Sunderland is one of several English clubs that have watched Strasbourg's Gessime Yassine this season. The 20-year-old Moroccan international attacker has also attracted interest from Brighton, Newcastle United, Brentford, Everton, and Nottingham Forest. Despite the growing interest, Yassine's future is reportedly expected to be at Chelsea, and the player is said to be comfortable with this prospect. Chelsea's ownership group, BlueCo, has a clear long-term plan for the winger, and their relationship with Strasbourg gives them an advantage in shaping his future. Yassine, who has 9 caps and one goal for Morocco, is under contract with the French club until June 2030. His current market value is €20.00m, according to Transfermarkt. He joined Strasbourg in January 2026 from Dunkerque for a reported fee of €7 million.
