City Group, the parent organization of Manchester City, has been monitoring Ajax midfielder Sean Steur for a longer period than most other interested parties. The 18-year-old Dutch player is the subject of interest from several clubs; BlueCo, whose senior club is Chelsea, is also monitoring him, while Tottenham and Newcastle have additionally observed the player. Liverpool, Arsenal, and Manchester United have all sent scouts to observe Steur at several Ajax matches in recent weeks. Despite the interest, Ajax intends to retain Steur for the long term, as some within the club believe he could be their best midfield prospect since Frenkie De Jong. With a contract until 2028, the Dutch club has a strong negotiating position. Eintracht Frankfurt held talks in January to arrange a deal but recognized that his growing reputation might prevent them from completing a transfer for him this summer. This season, Steur has made 10 appearances in the Eredivisie, and has one goal and one assist in 11 appearances in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. He has also scored two goals in six appearances for the Netherlands U18 team. His current valuation on Transfermarkt is €700k.
