Facing challenges in securing Konate or Saliba, Barcelona is worried that Madrid manager Alonso might shift his focus to Araujo. The club fears a scenario similar to Luis Figo's controversial transfer in 2000, should Araujo move to Real Madrid. However, there are currently no credible reports in the Spanish media linking Araujo to Madrid, and direct transfers between Barcelona and Real Madrid are rare. It is said that Barcelona president Laporta is open to selling Araujo and prefers that Liverpool, who are reportedly willing to offer over €40 million, sign him. Araujo, whose contract runs until 2031, is viewed as a long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk at Liverpool.
