Román Vega leaving Argentinos Juniors?

Zenit Saint Petersburg intercepted the transfer of Argentine defender Román Vega from Argentinos Juniors. He was very close to joining Moscow's Dynamo, who had been observing him but found some flaws, leading them to lose interest. The price for Dynamo was around €5.5 million, but Zenit acquired 90% of his rights for €9.5 million. Zenit announced the transfer on July 3, and Vega signed a five-year contract. He debuted in a friendly match against Baltika Kaliningrad.

Roman Vega, a 21-year-old Argentine left-back, has transferred from Argentinos Juniors to Zenit St. Petersburg. The transfer was announced by Zenit's official Telegram channel on July 3. The contract with Zenit is for five years. Alexander Grishin, a former CSKA Moscow midfielder, commented on the transfer, noting Vega's qualities as a good wing-back with significant work rate. Grishin mentioned that this acquisition is beneficial for Zenit, although a five-year contract might lead to complacency if the player does not perform as expected.

According to Argentine transfer journalist César Luis Merlo, Zenit Sint-Petersburg is in advanced negotiations to sign the 21-year-old left-back Román Vega from Argentinos Juniors. Zenit has offered nine million dollars, approximately 7.7 million euros, for ninety percent of Vega's transfer rights. The clubs are currently finalizing the details.

Román Vega was close to moving to Arab football, but his transfer fell through. It will not be easy to retain him in this transfer market.

Román Vega, a promising 20-year-old talent from Argentinos Juniors, has been closely followed by foreign clubs and was nearly transferred to Al Qasidiya. The club is optimistic about his future and potential transfer opportunities in the upcoming European summer transfer window, which could bring significant financial benefits to Argentinos Juniors.
