Pompey has signed Estonia international midfielder Rocco Shein from the Norwegian side Fredrikstad for a fee that was not disclosed. The 23-year-old agreed to a three-year contract at Fratton Park and is the third new player to join the club this summer.

It is said that Shein has likely played his final game for the club as he is nearing a transfer to Portsmouth for a reported fee of €2.5 million (£2.1 million). The deal reportedly includes various add-on criteria that could make it very profitable for Fredrikstad, and will mean Portsmouth overcomes competition from both Cardiff City and Millwall.

The central midfielder has 25 caps and one goal for Estonia and has registered two goals and two assists in 11 league appearances for Fredrikstad this season. His contract with the Norwegian club runs until the end of 2028, and he has a current market value of €2.30m, according to Transfermarkt.
