Sources have told Football Insider that Rangers are considering a move to sign Lens striker Rayan Fofana on loan. It is understood that a season-long loan could work for all parties. Rangers are seeking a new striker after Youssef Chermiti's injury but would prefer a loan rather than a permanent addition. Sources have indicated that the Gers feel a move for Fofana would leave them with more money to spend on additions elsewhere in the squad. Fofana could go to Ibrox to provide cover.

Rangers could consider Rayan Fofana for a potential summer move, as RC Lens are open to a season-long loan for the player. Rangers are searching for another ‘number 9’ following Youssef Chermiti’s ACL injury and are aware that Fofana is available on a short-term deal. The forward has been lowered in the selection hierarchy at RC Lens due to the loan arrival of Franjo Ivanović from Benfica, making a temporary move likely to increase his playing time.

Rangers are considering a move for Lens forward Rayan Fofana, a French U21 international. Manager Derek McInnes is seeking to add more attacking support, and the 20-year-old has been identified as potential cover after Youssef Chermiti suffered an ACL injury. The striker, who is rated at £7 million, made 27 appearances and scored five goals for Lens last season as the team finished second behind PSG. It is understood that the French club is open to the Ivory Coast-born player leaving on a season-long loan. Fofana joined Lens in July 2025 and is under contract until 2029. Rangers would face competition if they formalise their interest. This potential move occurs as chairman Andrew Cavenagh has promised further additions before the window closes.
