Ramón Sosa Transfer from Nottingham Forest to Palmeiras

ESPN BR reports on Palmeiras' successful acquisition of Ramón Sosa from Nottingham Forest. Palmeiras announced the signing of Ramón Sosa from Nottingham Forest after more than a month of negotiations. Sosa, who had a short stint at Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, joins Palmeiras to fill a positional need and is expected to play more frequently than he did in Europe. Initially, Palmeiras intended to have him for the Club World Cup, but now he will reinforce the team in the Campeonato Brasileiro, Copa do Brasil, and CONMEBOL Libertadores.

Ramón Sosa, a 25-year-old Paraguayan international forward with 22 caps, is in advanced negotiations to join Palmeiras. He is seen as a replacement for Estevao, who is moving to Chelsea. Palmeiras is looking to invest part of the 34 million euros received from Estevao's transfer into acquiring new players, including Sosa. Sosa joined Nottingham Forest from Talleres in Argentina in the summer of 2024 but has had limited playtime in the English league.

Palmeiras has made an offer of 11 million euros to Nottingham Forest for Ramón Sosa, which the English club has accepted. The final decision is now in the hands of the player. Palmeiras had previously made an attempt to sign Sosa before the Club World Cup, but he had opted to remain in the Premier League to gain more experience in English football. The negotiations are being supported by Gustavo Gómez, the captain of Palmeiras and a fellow Paraguayan of Sosa, who has informed him about the club and the working conditions there. Talleres, Sosa's former club, stands to receive a percentage of any amount exceeding 11 million euros if the transfer is finalized.

Palmeiras is reportedly interested in acquiring Ramon Sosa from Nottingham Forest as a replacement for Dudu, who transferred to Cruzeiro earlier this year. Sources suggest that Sosa is uncomfortable with his current situation at Nottingham Forest due to limited playing opportunities. ESPN has confirmed this interest, which was initially reported by 'Canal do Nicola' on YouTube. This season, Sosa has scored three goals and provided one assist in 23 appearances for Nottingham Forest. Despite having invested nearly R$ 400 million in forwards such as Vitor Roque, Paulinho, and Facundo Torres, Palmeiras identifies a need for a right-footed left-winger to occupy the position previously held by Dudu. Facundo Torres is currently fulfilling this role but is anticipated to move to replace Estêvão, who is set to join Chelsea after the Club World Cup. Sosa, who is part of the Paraguayan national team and is participating in the South American qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, matches this profile, making him a suitable candidate for Palmeiras.
