Rafael Obrador Transfer from Benfica to Torino
Torino is considering signing Rafael Obrador, a 21-year-old Spanish left-back whom Benfica acquired from Real Madrid last summer for €5 million but has used infrequently. Torino has a strong interest in Obrador. The player's salary at Benfica is €300,000 plus bonuses, which is considered affordable for the Italian club. It is reported that Torino has taken the initial steps to arrange a transfer, which could be a loan, while a permanent purchase is also being considered. Manager José Mourinho has publicly commented that he does not yet feel the player is prepared for Benfica, and the arrival of José Neto in the main squad has reportedly made Obrador's exit more likely. Obrador's contract at Benfica is valid until June 2030 and his market value is listed as €2.00m by Transfermarkt. This season, he has made one appearance in Liga Portugal and two in Liga Portugal 2. The defender has also made four appearances and scored one goal for the Spain U21 national team.
