According to TEAMtalk, West Ham United have taken early action in an attempt to sign Union Saint-Gilloise striker Promise David ahead of Brighton, Leeds United, Newcastle and Sunderland.

Sunderland have extensively watched Union Saint-Gilloise's 24-year-old Canadian forward Promise David this season and have been sending scouts to Belgium regularly, receiving favorable reports in return. Sunderland are one of several clubs monitoring the player, with Newcastle, West Ham, Leeds, and Brighton also having watched him. It has been reported that Leeds have been scouting him in a similar fashion to Sunderland. Sunderland is said to view David as a player capable of changing their forward options, a view also shared by Leeds and Brighton. David, who joined the Belgian club in July 2024 and has earned 8 caps for Canada, is under contract until June 2029 and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €13.00m. Recent reports state Union Saint-Gilloise's asking price for the forward is more than €20 million.
