Pape Meissa Ba Transfer from Schalke 04 to Widzew Lodz

Kicker reports on Pape Meissa Ba's transfer from Schalke 04 to Widzew Lodz. After only half a year at Schalke 04, Pape Meissa Ba is leaving the club to join Polish top-flight side Widzew Lodz. The club officially announced the transfer on Friday. Schalke had previously been searching for a new club for Ba during this transfer window. Ba is expected to get more playing time at his new club, as he struggled for minutes at Schalke.

Dirk Schlarmann from Sky confirmed that Pape Meïssa Ba is set to join Widzew Łódź. The player was absent from Schalke 04's training and has traveled to Poland to complete the move. Robert Dobrzycki, the owner of Widzew, spoke about their financial restrictions and their goal of making quality signings. Notably, Pape Meïssa Ba recently did not pass a medical test for a transfer to Queens Park Rangers, which was at an advanced stage with a proposed fee of half a million euros plus bonuses. The transfer was stopped due to concerns over a high risk of injury to his right knee, although Ba has never experienced a major injury in his career. Some believe that QPR might have used this situation to negotiate a lower transfer fee, while another perspective suggests that Wycombe Wanderers lowered the price for Richard Kone, who eventually signed with QPR instead.
